A full VCT recovery across a regional grocery floorplate — strip, scrub, and finish, completed without closing the store.
A regional grocery retailer needed a full floor recovery across a large-format sales floor. The VCT had reached the stage where recoating no longer produced results — finish had built up unevenly in traffic lanes and the floor no longer presented as maintained.
The constraint was that a grocery store cannot close. Whatever the work required, the floor had to be walkable and presentable for customers every morning.
The floorplate was sectioned so restoration progressed in stages across overnight windows, with each worked section fully cured and returned to service before the store opened. Work moved through the store rather than shutting any part of it down.
Because the finish was being rebuilt rather than patched, cure time between coats was honored on every section — the step most often compressed when a job runs behind.
The full floorplate was returned to inspection-ready condition without a single day of closure. For a grocery retailer, that constraint is usually the reason floor recovery gets deferred year after year until the floor has to be replaced instead of restored.
VCT strip and wax, commercial floor care, and scrub and recoat.
